Depart from Arusha
with picnic lunch boxes and proceed to Lake Manyara National
Park for game drive. The compact game-viewing circuit through
Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzania safari
experience. Contrasting with the intimacy of the forest is the
grassy floodplain and its expansive views eastward, across the
Alkaline Lake, to the jagged blue volcanic peaks that rise from
the endless Masai Steppes. Large buffalo, wildebeest and zebra
herds congregate on these grassy plains, as do giraffes some
so dark in colour that they appear to be black from a distance.
As you witness and enjoy all this natural beauties, drive across
the acacia trees strip in search of tree climbing lions of Lake
Manyara National Park. In the afternoon break for picnic lunch
and then continue with game drive. In the evening leave the park
and proceed to your lodge or campsite booked in advance for
dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara. Early morning drive into Lake Manyara Park. Continue
further on to visit the hot springs. Return to the lodge for
late breakfast. Shortly after breakfast, collect your picnic
lunch and proceed to Serengeti via the slope of Ngorongoro's
rainy forest and later to the vast animal-rich plains then enter
into the Serengeti National Park. Game drive en-route the
Serengeti plains in search of the leopards and cheetahs. In
the evening proceed to Seronera for dinner and overnight at the
Lodge or Campsite. Full
morning-drive to explore the vast rich game animals of Serengeti
plains. In the afternoon return to your lodge for hot lunch. At
about 16:00hrs leave your lodge and drive to watch some of the
500-plus bird species, ranging from the outsized ostrich and
bizarre secretary bird of the open grassland, to the black
eagles that soar effortlessly above the Lobo Hills. In the
evening leave the park and drive back to your lodge or campsite
for dinner and overnight stay at Seronera. After breakfast, collect your
picnic lunch and proceed to Ngorongoro. Game drive en-route the
Serengeti/Ngorongoro plains. Visit Olduvai Gorge to get a
briefing about the discovery of the fossil Homo habilis dated
1.75 million years. This were uncovered Leakey 1959. Picnic
lunch at the site and thereafter, continue to Ngorongoro
arriving in time for dinner and overnight at the lodge or
campsite on the rim of the Crater. In the morning collect your packed lunch and drive over the rim
of the Crater descending 610m/2000ft. The Ngorongoro Crater is
2286m above sea-level. It is the largest unbroken caldera in the
world. Surrounded by very steep walls rising 610m from the
crater floor, this natural amphitheatre covers an area of about,
100 square miles, in diameter and is home to up to 25,000 large
mammals, almost half of them zebras and wildebeests. There are
also gazelles, buffaloes, elands, hartebeests, warthogs, and
others. Such concentrated numbers attract predators, mainly
lions and hyenas but also cheetahs and leopards. More than 100
species of birds not found in the Serengeti have been spotted
here. Countless flamingoes form a pink blanket over the Soda
Lakes. Therefore during the full morning crater tour you will be
able to enjoy natures beauties in this naturally unfenced zoo.
In the afternoon stop at one of the sites to enjoy your picnic
lunch. At 16:00hrs leave the crater as you ascend the wall of
the Crater and drive back to Arusha. |
